The Bay Area's Opera Cultura presents ¡Chicanísima! in association with Quinteto Latino. Following the sold-out premiere in 2024, we're excited to revisit Carla Lucero's brilliant one-act opera about political activist Olga Talamante.

Noontime Concerts
Come enjoy a mid-day break with us at San Francisco’s favorite “workday oasis” concert series. We’ve got an exciting program planned including Pulitzer Prize-winning Tania León’s monumental De Memorias. We’ll also perform Ronaldo Miranda’s lovely Variações Sérias and works by the legendary Astor Piazzolla and Gerardo Matos Rodríguez’ quintessential tango: La Cumparsita.

We’re excited to have the opportunity to perform for this important South Bay series, now in its 38th year! The program will include the brilliant De Memorias by Pulitzer Prize winning composer Tania León (pictured). We’ll also perform Ronaldo Miranda’s tuneful Variações Sérias, Júlio Medaglia’s exquisite Belle Epoque en Sud-America and a suite of tangos by Gerardo Matos Rodriguez and Astor Piazzolla including the fiery masterpiece Libertango.
